If you are about to rent a room in Madrid (or an apartment) which is already furnished, you may want to have a look at some nice home decor shops in Madrid where you can buy items for a cheap price and give a personal touch to your new home abroad.
We have listed the best places to dress up your room and apartment with style.

Add some cute mugs and colorful dishware in the kitchen, make your bedroom cozy or style the living room with some plants... you can improve the decoration of your new accommodation in Madrid and completely feel at home.

Here you have a brief overview of some of the most affordable home decor shops in Madrid, where most of the young internationals in town use to purchase their home objects. In these places you will find a big variety of categories, lots of accessories with a nice design for different personalities, tastes and needs. And the best part - beside the cheap price - is that these shops are mostly located in the central neighborhoods in Madrid.

Our top list of affordable home decor shops in Madrid

Casa

“Disfruta tu casa” which means “Enjoy your home” is the claim of this house goods retail and e-commerce company.

At CASA, you will find an excellent range of decorative and functional home articles, so you can enjoy the time you spend in your new home abroad even more!

Choose attractive, affordable and trendy products amongst several categories: decoration and gift articles, home textiles, kitchen accessories and furniture for inside and outside the home.

Muy Mucho

Inspired by the Mediterranean essence and born in Barcelona, Muy Mucho aims to create a warm, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere at home that invites you to relax and enjoy your time there.

Their claim is “felicidad en las pequeñas cosas”, which means “happiness in little things” and they achieve this by looking for inspiration in the latest trends of the hygge philosophy.

In the Muy Mucho shops you will find the predominance of wood, fabrics and textiles to create warm and cosy atmospheres, soft colours, the use of soft and natural light which gives a feeling of balance and order.

Primark

Whether your personal taste for home decor leans towards a minimalist or maximalist aesthetic, at Primark you could certainly find something to suit your style.

Comfy cushions for your sofa, cozy blankets, bed sheets and lighting furniture to style your bedroom (here you can find the cheapest bed clothing ever!!). But also candles, storage boxes, mugs, homeware and much more!

Moreover, Primark always has a big seasonally variable range based on different themes and holidays such as Halloween, Christmas and NYE, Valentine's Day, Easter, etc.

Zara Home

As you may imagine, Zara Home is the home furnishing and accessories brand from the Spanish fashion retail colossus Zara.
Just as in its fashion collections, at Zara Home you will find the latest trends, designs and inspo from the home decoration world.

We could say that it’s a little priced-up, compared to the previous stores in our list, but some articles have such a nice quality that the cost is worth paying.

Ikea

Everyone knows the Swedish giant, Ikea, right?! Well, we can definitely consider it one of the more budget-friendly home decor shops in Madrid. You can find a beautiful store in the fancy Salamanca neighborhood (or two more others in the outskirts).

The products in this furniture and decoration shop are the perfect balance between attention to the details and an affordable price.
At Ikea you'll find everything your home needs (even though helpHousing apartments are already completely furnished!): furniture, sofas, appliances, wardrobes, decorative items, metal shelving, kitchenware, lighting to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere or garden furniture. Also a great collection for the bedroom: quality mattresses in all materials, pillows, bed linens and blankets.

Zakka

Zakka is one of the cheapest (and cutest) decoration shops in Madrid where you can find everyday items at surprising prices. Their shops are located in the most central areas of Madrid, such as Calle Fuencarral, in Malasaña, or Tirso de Molina, in La Latina.

Their articles boast innovative and colorful designs with a high functionality: mugs, notebooks, stationery, dishes and cutlery, plants and much more!

El Rastro Market

El Rastro is the most famous open-air market in Madrid and it takes place every Sunday morning (9am - 3pm), stretching along the beautiful narrow streets of La Latina neighborhood.
With more than 400 years of history, here you can find everyday objects, second-hand furniture or curious antique gadgets...all surrounded by a lively and cheerful atmosphere of local and international people.

In some of the streets around the Ribera de Curtidores - which is the starting point of El Rastro - you can find spots dedicated to the sale of some specialty products such as paintings, as well as painting materials in Calle de San Cayetano, magazines, stickers and card games in Calle de Rodas, Plaza del General Vara or vintage books in Calle del Carnero.

You can set up the perfect Sunday morning at El Rastro market with your international friends, then eat some tapas like locals do and end up visiting the beautiful surrounding attractions: Plaza Mayor de Madrid, Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza de Santa Ana, Puerta del Sol and Catedral de la Almudena.

We wish you a nice shopping experience and we can’t wait to meet you in your new home in Madrid!
