Florence is not only one of the most beautiful places in Italy, but in Europe. Surrounded by three hills and crossed by the Arno River, makes its landscapes a unique stamp. Reasons why living in Florence is highly recommended if you are thinking of moving to another country.

It stands out in many aspects, its art has exceptional pieces such as "el David" by David de Miguel Angel, Botticelli's Venus, or the Palazzo Vecchio. Its architecture, one of the most attractive and recognized attractions of the city.

Its Renaissance style takes over the streets, highlighting its imposing Cathedral of Santa Maria della Fiore, crowned with the red dome of Filippo Brunelleschi.

But not everything stays there, finding iconic places such as the Ponte Vecchio or the Galleria degli Uffizi. But Florence is not all art and one of the biggest attractions in Italy is its gastronomy and more specifically its local cuisine.

Dishes with a unique style, fresh, basic and rustic food. Of which we can recommend the Pappardelle alla lepre, one of the most typical Tuscan pastas, made with Bolognese sauce and hare meat or the Panzanella, a poor dish of the Tuscan peasants, consisting of bread, cucumber, onion and basil.

Such is the beauty of this city that it was declared a World Heritage Site in 1982. Florence is undoubtedly the perfect place for lovers of culture, music, literature and fashion.

Living in the Santa Maria Novella district

Santa Maria Novella has an advantage over the other neighborhoods of the Tuscan capital and its excellent communication. It is located right next to the train station, which allows its neighbors to travel in a matter of minutes to the historic center of the city. 

It is a more family-oriented area, with great ease of transportation. It is surrounded by good restaurants and many stores, stores and markets. This area in turn is very close to places of great tourist interest.

Novoli, cheapest accommodation for students

As in most cities in the world, the farther from the center the cheaper, this is the case of Novoli, it is a residential area, not at all touristy located north of Santa Maria Novella.

As for mobility, to access the center the best option is public transport, to get there in minutes. If you prefer to walk, you can enjoy a pleasant stroll that will take about 30 to 40 minutes.

Living in Novoli is undoubtedly the best value for money, one of the best neighborhoods to live in Florence for students.

Sant' Ambrogio, the best area for students

Known as the Jewish quarter of Florence, less known than the other neighborhoods, but one of the best to live in Florence. Slightly away from the center of Florence, it is not so crowded with tourists. It is close enough to reach the center quickly on foot, in a matter of minutes.

The value for money is very good. It is a quiet and well connected area, where more and more students choose to stay during their stay in Florence.

Piazza del Duomo, nightlife

Area well known for the resting place of the remains of great Florentines such as Michelangelo's David and Galileo Galilei.

But undoubtedly one of the main reasons why you should think about living in Piazza del Duomo is for its nightlife, located near the main tourist attractions makes it a very attractive place for nightlife lovers.

It is undoubtedly one of the liveliest areas with plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes. It is very central and you can walk almost anywhere.

Piazza della Signoria, the most central area of Florence

It is undoubtedly one of the best areas to live in Florence, thanks to the many tourist sites around it, among which are places already mentioned above as the Ponte Vecchio.

In the heart of the city center, it has excellent communication and numerous services nearby. That is why the accommodation is inexpensive when compared to the rest of the places on this list.

In short, Piazza della Signoria is the ideal place for lovers of Italian history, culture and art.
