Each one of the areas in the Catalan capital city have their own uniqueness and charm uniqueness and you sure will find the perfect place to settle in. Let’s discover together the best neighbourhoods to live in Barcelona!

Living in Barrio Gótico

The Gothic neighborhood might be the most popular among international people. Here you have most of the great history of the city: from Roman ruins to medieval buildings, narrow streets filled with nice cafes, bakeries and boutiques. This is the perfect place to get lost and live the true European lifestyle. In Barrio Gótico you will be close enough to both the city centre and the beach, surrounded by parks, banks, supermarkets and everything you need.

Have a look at our rooms for rent in Barrio Gótico and choose your next home abroad!

L’Eixample, one of the best neighbourhoods to live in Barcelona

Eixample, which means “the expansion”, is known as the former suburb area from the 1890s, a period when this place was the link between the ancient Roman ruins (gothic quarter) and the Gràcia area.

The Eixample is located in the northern side of Ciutat Vella (the old town) and it feels like a completely different world compared to the Barrio Gótico: it has that downtown vibes with modern architecture, large boulevards, many shops, restaurants, bars and a great transportation network.

Here you can find some unique designs from the Art Nouveau era and, of course, the outstanding masterpieces of Antoni Gaudí, such as Casa Batlló and Casa Milá.
The Eixample, is considered one of the best neighborhoods to live in Barcelona for those young internationals that are looking for a lively area with a great nightlife and big city vibes.

Gràcia, a friendly and quiet area in Barcelona

Grácia stretches from the beautiful Park Guell area down to the southern side of Eixample district.
It’s a lovely and calm neighborhood home to families, thousands of expats, hipsters and artists. It originally was a separate town from Barcelona and you could still recognize this charming characteristic nowadays.

What makes Grácia unique is that it has plenty of boutiques, cool cafes, bakeries, little squares and many green areas: the stunning Park Guell, first of all!
Probably the only downside could be its distance from the beach, but the excellent transportation service in Barcelona connects any area of the city!

If you are interested in living here, have a look at our rooms for rent in Grácia.

El Clot, for an easy access to the beach

El Clot is the oldest neighborhood in the Sant Martí district and after its renovation for the Olympic games in 1992, today is a popular area among surfers and kiteboarders.
Here you can find a mix of the traditional buildings and many modern and attractive structures.

One of the best things about living in El Clot is definitely the easy access to both the beach and the city centre, especially to the Rambla of Poblenou, with hundreds of bars and restaurants, cycling and walking areas.

Sarrià and Sant Gervasi for a calm atmosphere

Sarrià, along with Sant Gervasi, located on the edge of the city are some of the most beautiful, wealthiest and most exclusive neighbourhoods in Barcelona. This area originally was an independent village. Despite its annexation to the beautiful city, it still preserves its original old town spirit and all the features of a small village.

If you’re about to move to Barcelona, we recommend you to get a look at these rooms for rent in Sarrià, the lovely neighbourhood on the foothills of Tibidabo mount. If you want to live a unique and quiet housing experience in Barcelona, here you have the ideal location.
