The best time to spend whole days in the most beautiful gardens of Florence is undoubtedly in spring.

Especially in May, when there is the flowering of roses and irises. 

The Rose Garden 

The Rose Garden is located in Viale Giuseppe Poggi, under Piazzale Michelangelo. From here you can enjoy a splendid view over the historic center of the city of Florence. 

This garden is ideal for a romantic walk or just to relax in a real green oasis, and disconnect from all the stone of the city. 

The rose garden is named after its collection of about 400 varieties of roses. In addition to roses, you can admire over 1200 other plants. 

In addition to roses and other plants, in the garden we can also find works of art, such as bronze sculptures by the Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon. 

There is also another peculiarity and beauty that characterizes the garden that is a real Japanese oasis Shorai.

The Iris Garden 

The Iris Garden is located on the corner of Viale dei Colli and Piazzale Michelangelo, on a hillside full of olive trees, meadows and flower beds and a pond for the cultivation of water flowers. 

It is a green oasis in the heart of the city, very special, very romantic and a little hidden. 

The garden is open for about a month a year, between April and May, coinciding with the flowering of over 1500 varieties of iris from all over the world.

The garden Bardini

The Bardini Garden, with its villa nicknamed "belvedere", is located in one of the most spectacular points of Florence and also houses the Pietro Annigoni museum. 

The garden extends for about 4 hectares, and consists of a large Baroque staircase, from the English forest to the west and the agricultural part to the east. 

By climbing the staircase, you can admire the whole city of Florence, which in spring will boast of the spectacular flowering of wisteria and iris.

Botanical garden "Giardino dei Semplici" 

The botanical garden "Giardino dei Semplici" is part of the national history museum of the University of Florence. 

This garden covers an area of two hectares and includes about six thousand plants.

• Winter: Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10:00 to 17:00
• Summer: Thursday to Tuesday from 10:00 to 19:00
