The Ponte Vecchio

One of Florence's most iconic places is the Ponte Vecchio, a medieval bridge that crosses the Arno River. Built in the 14th century, the bridge is home to a large number of jewellery and goldsmith shops, making it a popular spot for tourists looking to buy a souvenir.

In addition to the shops, the bridge has impressive views of the river and the city, especially at sunset. Don't miss the opportunity to walk across the Ponte Vecchio during your visit to Florence.

Uffizi Museum and Accademia Museum

These are the most important museums in the city and the country. The Uffizi museum is known for the large amount of Renaissance art it exhibits. Among some of the artists presented in the museum are Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.

In the Accademia Museum one piece stands out above the rest, one of the best known worldwide, the sculpture of David, one of the most representative works of the Italian artist Michelangelo.

Ticket prices for the Uffizi Museum change depending on the season of the year:

From 01/03 to 31/10 tickets cost 20€, however you can enjoy a discount if you are a young person between 18 and 25 years old, the ticket in that case it costs 10€.

From 01/11 to 28/02 tickets are cheaper, the price is 10€ and with discount only 6€.

The price for the Academy Museum is 16€, with a discount for young people between 18 and 25 only 2€.

Boboli Gardens

Beautiful gardens next to the Pitti Palace, perfect for a stroll along the walkways to see all the fountains, statues and beautiful views. Prices range from 10€ to 6€ depending on the time of year.

One of the most popular spots in the gardens is the Grotta del Buontalenti, a baroque-style grotto built in the 16th century.

Historic Centre

Getting lost in the streets of the city centre is one of its greatest attractions and the greatest things to do in Florence. Considered one of the most impressive in all of Europe, Florence's historic centre stands out for its Renaissance architecture and great history.

 

The Tuscany region

If Florence is too small for you, you can explore nearby towns and cities such as Siena, with its medieval beauty, Pisa, with its famous leaning tower, or San Gimignano, a beautiful town known for its towers and architecture.
